MAMA FRANCIS

VULNERABLE MOTHER  | TANZANIA

Mother Francis suffers from Schizophrenia and is unable to properly care for her family. Just under a year and a half ago, she was either roaming the streets of Arusha Tanzania with her husband and her 6 children or living in highly dysfunctional conditions. She is now being supported by The Small Things in partnership with Project Rose in an effort to provide her and her family with basic support, educational support and residential stability. Through sponsorships, she will also gain access to psychological assistance and medical support as well. It goes without being said -- any support could make a tremendous difference in the life of Mama Francis and her family. Please learn more & get involved by clicking the button link below.

HAPPINESS

FRANCIS GIRL, 15 | TANZANIA

Happiness (or Happy, as she is nicknamed) was very quiet and shy when she entered TST's care, but has since grown into a helpful, self-confident and well-liked girl who suits her name well! After attending a local government primary school in Arusha Tanzania for the first two years in TST's care, Happy now attends a fantastic nearby boarding school. She continues to visit her siblings at Happy Family Children's Village on school breaks. A monthly sponsor would assist Happy with her school fees, boarding costs, uniforms and support when home for holidays. Please learn more & get involved by clicking the button link below.

PENDO

FRANCIS GIRL, 8 | TANZANIA

Pendo is a friendly little girl who loves spending time with her friends in the girls' house at Happy Family Children's Village (HFCV) in Arusha Tanzania. Unlike her two older sisters, Pendo came into care early enough to pick up English easily. After a year in the pre-primary class at TST's daycare, she now attends Silverleaf Academy - our partner English-Medium school - with the rest of the kids from HFCV. Pendo's name means "love" in Swahili and she is much-loved by everyone so the name truly suits her. Supporting Pendo would assist with her school tuition, uniforms and other school fees as well as improved living conditions in order to spend more time with her family. Please learn more & get involved by clicking the button link below.

IVYNE

YOUNG STUDENT, 7  | TANZANIA

Ivyne is a friendly 7 year old young and budding boy in Arusha, Tanzania. We had the opportunity of engaging him for an extended period of time during a homestay experience in Nikoranga and can attest to his incredible potential. He currently lives with his mother and father. Unfortunately, they are not in a position to pay for all of his basic needs or school fees although he has shown a record of very high performance in his academics. He is currently attending Assumption Primary School in Kijenge Arusha and would benefit greatly from a monthly sponsor and/or mentor. YOUNG MOTHER | TANZANIA

Jesca is a young mother and wife with one son. Her husband has not been able to provide for her and their family as he currently has no salary. As a miner, her husband has had to succumb to the pitfalls of extremely cheap labor and has not been able to provide food, a house to live or school fees for their only son, Ivyne. Jesca is working a temporary job with a very low salary to try and make ends meet. Her wish is to one day see her family living a comfortable life with a stable home and good schooling for her child. TEPEYANI

YOUNG MOTHER | TANZANIA

Tepeyani is a young mother and wife with 4 children: 2 girls and 2 boys located in Longido, Tanzania. Her husband does not provide any assistance to make ends meet for their family and unfortunately rarely makes an effort to. Tepeyani carries the bulk of the load when it comes to provision and raising their children. She says it's is due to detrimental cultural conditioning of the Maasai Tribe she comes from where women are positioned to carry the bulk of the household load.

Funds for food, basic necessities, housing rent and school fees are extremely scarce for Tepeyani - so a one time donation or a monthly sponsor would make a significant difference in Tepeyani's life and the life of her family.
